The summer’s work tends to intensify as autumn nears. My intention was to post about the gardening and canning frequently, but…. Each day the work takes precedent and by the time all is done, Bonnie lacks energy and clarity to do any writing, let alone ”thinking”

SIDEWAYS PANTRY
The pantry and our 20 cubic foot freezer are both completely full at this moment. There are pickled cukes ( dill and sweet), dilly beans, peaches, plums, beets, carrots, red cabbage… There is peach jam, strawberry-rhubarb jam and lemon curd. Apple, Peach, Cherry, Blueberry and Green Tomato Pie Fillings as well as BBQ Sauce, Seafood Cocktail Sauce, Peach BBQ Sauce, Salsa, Sauerkraut and Fermented Turnips. Elk and Beef in Wine Sauce along side Elk Chili too. Almost forgot zuchinni relish and sweet pickle relish. Much, Much MORE!!
I am thinking about hosting a “home-preserved food” exchange. Pickles for jams? Pie filling for ???? Anyone interested?
