Last year I sort of went overboard when planting the vegetable garden. While the plants were small enough to count, I took inventory of them.
123 Tomato – Mixed varieties of Roma/Paste
14 Tomato – Mixed other slicing
40 Peppers – mix of Hungarian wax, red & green bell
12 Squash – Yellow crookneck
8 Squash – Zucchini
1 Squash – Bon Bon Winter
47 Cucumbers – Pickling
13 Cabbage – Green
20 Cabbage – Red
35 Broccoli
15 Cauliflower
72 Brussels Sprouts
2 – 20 ft rows of blue potatoes
Misc herbs (dill, tarragon, basil ..)

I have learned to grow fewer plants!   By mid summer I could barely navigate the garden.   The brussels sprouts suffered from aphids & did not produce well mostly due to the high density of the planting.   I will be trying sweet corn this year – Bill at Seeds Trust convinced me to try “Fisher’s Earliest” even though I have not grown corn since my attempts were not successful in the past.
